Welcome to the Electronic Portfolio of Alison Hardin!
On my homepage, you will be able to read and explore a little about me and my goals of becoming an elementary school teacher. You will be able to discover, my future goals, my philosophy on education, and my thoughts of technology in the classroom.
My name is Alison Hardin and I was born in Scotland. I lived in Georgia for 19 years of my life. I went to public school until the seventh grade and then I was home schooled through my senior year in a Georgia accredited program. I loved being able to learn at my own pace. I graduated from high school with honors and am a member of the National Honor Society.
Most of my life was spent volunteering in the children’s department at church for Sunday school. I have volunteered for Vacation Bible School and camp every year since middle school until I went to college in Ohio. It seems I’ve always known I wanted to be a teacher.I began working for the YMCA in the before and after school programs. I also help with the preschool whenever needed.
I am currently a junior at Kent State University and majoring in Early Childhood Education. I changed my major to Psychology briefly, but then realized teaching is definitely where I belong. Although psychology has a place in education, my heart’s desire is to teach elementary students.
I want to work with Kindergarten students to help them explore and discover all the neat things in the world around them. My passion is children; I work with them every day.
