Why I want to teach?
The reason I want to become a teacher in an early childhood classroom is because of how much I enjoyed being in elementary school. My teachers influenced me in many ways and was an important figure in my life. I believe that early childhood is where I should be, because I enjoy children. I love how they put a smile on my face when I walk in the room and they yell my name. I also love to see them smile and giggle about lots of little things that makes them each individually happy. I want to teach because I want to make a difference in the life of a child. I love watching them when they get that "AH HA" moment when they realized they finally understand something. When I become a teacher, I want to give the child the knowledge and the imagination of how they can be anything their minds can dream. For me, it is important that a child starts off their early years with a good education, so they can build upon that knowledge as they grow older. I want to be a influence to the children I come across and help them become as successful in whatever they choose to do in the future.
WHat is Effective teaching?
In order to be an efficient teacher, is that a teacher needs to meet the needs of a child. I believe a classroom should be hands on and fun, but not out of control. The environment should be friendly, colorful, not so boring. Have images and color on the walls of educational things so they are still learning but not sitting there bored. My teacher in college still made college fun giving us an assignment using play-doe to make a model of the brain. In high school I had to make a board game of what I had learned in my history class. Doing things like that I believe will make me a fun teacher but also helping them learn. The classroom environment should be a place a child wants to come to, and should promote imagination.
Personal CHARACTERISTICS!!!
The qualities I believe I have that will make me a great teacher is that I am passionate about children. I love children. I believe you have to be very organized and flexible, which will come in handy when lesson plans do not go the way they are suppose to go. Being creative and helping the children use their imaginations is what I want in my classroom. Being driven, easy-going, fun loving I feel are characteristics I have that will be useful in helping the class to have fun, but still learn, and also somewhat disciplined. I enjoy teaching with all my heart and putting these characteristics into what I love will make me a great teacher.
